A Hamilcar Heavy Assault Glider deplanes a Tetrach tank of the Airborne Armoured Reconnaissance Unit on DZ 'L' on the evening of 6th June 1944. This was the first time in the history of warfare that tanks were flown into battle. Horsa Medium Assault Gliders can be seen landing in the background.
